This film is about a crack US Army bomb disposal team in Iraq whose job is disarm IEDs. Although a feature the film has a feel of a docu-drama. It looks very real and takes the viewer on the emotional roller coaster when facing potential death each time the unit goes in on a mission. The film does not take a pro or anti-war stance, but just a real life or simulated look into the dangers that this type of war presents to American forces.

I liked the story (& the movie) but I think it offers a limited perspective on a very complex situation.

If you are looking for a film as good as the book, this is not. Though the actors are undeniably cute, and some of the scenes and authenticity to life in Afghanistan are gorgeous, the film alone (without having read the book) hardly conveys half of the impact of the story of the original book.
