A good adaptation of the book by Nicholas Sparks. This is a moving story about a 17 year old girl played by Miley Cyrus, whose life is totally changed when her parents divorce. She is very bitter with both until she gets to spend a summer with her father. Her father, a teacher and former pianist lives a low-key life until his daughter shows up. The father-daughter dynamic at the end is very heart-wrenching. The acting of Bobby Coleman and Liam Hemsworth are both impressive. Just as with The Notebook and “A Walk to Remember,” the book and the film live up to the promise.
