This is a dramatic film about how an American military advisor played by Tom Cruise goes to Japan to teach the Emperors troops about modern warfare. What he learns is that he will destroy the last remnants of Samurai culture. Cruise is captured by the Samurai and learns their ways and switches sides. Although the story is different there are parallels between this and Shogun.

Excellent film. Metaphor for how Western countries of today treat Third World countries. Not much has changed if you really think about. The battle between modernization and traditional cultures. Very good acting, a good story and very good fighting and action scenes. Highly recommended.
