It is hard to believe (or may be not) that this film was made in the eighties yet in 2009/10 it rings so true considering the financial debacle that has rocked the U.S. and Europe. The film has an all star cast where a naïve young broker played by Charlie Sheen is lured into greed and power by a Wall Street financial godfather played by Michael Douglas. His motto is “greed is good” and eventually Sheen’s character pays the price. Some films are timeless and sadly this is one of them as it gives pause for its viewer about the rampant materialism, and greed that we are all told to indulge in.
