This book by Hena Khan is great for children second to fourth grade. It follows the story of a young American-Muslim girl as she awaits the crescent of the month of Ramadan. The story follows the moon as it appears to going through half way in the month when there is a full moon to the last day and the celebration of Eid. Besides the faith part of the fasting the book reveals different aspects of culture, like girls putting the henna decorations on their hands. The cover, text and illustrations are very colorful.
